Polycrystalline Transparent Ceramics

This ceramic has a bending strength of over 350MPa and a thermal expansion coefficient of (6.5~8.5)×10⁻⁶/°C, making it suitable for high-pressure sodium lamp luminescent tubes, microwave integrated circuit substrates, and dental orthodontic brackets. The preparation process includes isostatic pressing and atmospheric sintering, with key technologies involving optimizing the grain boundary structure and polishing the surface to a finish of 11~13 level. Professor Zhao Zhe's team achieved high-precision forming through digital light processing stereolithography technology, expanding the application range of this material.

The luminescent tube used for manufacturing high-pressure sodium lamps (with a working lifetime of over 20,000 hours). It can also be used as substrates for microwave integrated circuits, bearing materials, wear-resistant surface materials, and materials for infrared optical components, etc.
